In these unprecedented times, it is impossible for us to physically be together to worship God.

This page a space for us to virtually gather as a faith community. Please visit our Faith Outreach page for resources, activities and prayers created by our children in school.

Monday 1st March: 2nd Sunday of Lent

In Sunday’s Gospel, we hear a story called the Transfiguration. This is the time when Jesus physically changed and his clothes became a dazzling white. This is important because this moment shows that Jesus was human and God.

The apostles on the mountain with Jesus at that time were changed forever because of this experience.

We all have these ‘transfiguration moments’ in our lives, when something happens that is so powerful and wonderful that we are changed forever. However, like the disciples, we must come back down from the mountain and rejoin our every day lives as changed people.

Can you think of a Transfiguration moment in your life? How did you bring this experience into your every day life?

Live-Streamed Mass

Mass is streamed each day live on YouTube from St. Mary’s Cathedral at 10am. The channel is called ‘Diocese of Middlesbrough’ and it is a welcome opportunity to pray and reflect during the morning.

As we cannot encounter Jesus in the Eucharist at the moment, we can make a prayer of spiritual communion instead:

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
