15th May 2020HANNAH ANGEL

Dear God ,

Help the poor people that have to stay in hospital and can’t see their family and loved ones. Bless their hearts and souls and bless the people that have sadly died from the virus and bless them and wrap your hands over them and us.

Prayer for today 14.5.20

14th May 2020HANNAH ANGEL
Today we join our prayers with those from all faith traditions as join the day of prayer, fasting and works of charity to ask for God to help us at this time. Let us prayer Pope Francis’ prayer to Our Lady during the pandemic:
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,
with steadfast faith.
You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that,
as you did at Cana of Galilee,
joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform ourselves to the Father’s will
and to do what Jesus tells us:
He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.
We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin

Prayer for today 13.5.20

13th May 2020HANNAH ANGEL
Today is the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. So today let us ask Our Lady to pray for us and all who are sick as we say
ACT OF ENTRUSTMENT TO MARY

Blessed Virgin Mary of Fatima, with renewed gratitude for your motherly presence we join in the voice of all generations that call you blessed. We celebrate in you the great works of God, who never tires of lowering himself in mercy over humanity, afflicted by evil and wounded by sin, to heal and to save it.

Accept with the benevolence of a Mother this act of entrustment that we make in faith today, before this your image, beloved to us. We are certain that each one of us is precious in your eyes and that nothing in our hearts has estranged you. May we allow your sweet gaze to reach us and the perpetual warmth of your smile.

Guard our life with your embrace; bless and strengthen every desire for good; give new life and nourishment to faith; sustain and enlighten hope; awaken and animate charity; guide us all on the path to holiness.

Teach us your own special love for the little and the poor, for the excluded and the suffering, for sinners and the wounded of heart. Gather all people under you protection and give us all to your beloved Son, our Lord Jesus. Amen

Prayer for today 7.5.20

7th May 2020HANNAH ANGEL
Today our prayer is written by one of our St Augustine pupils:
Dear Lord,
I pray for the people who need you the most,
I hope for the best that everybody can live in peace after all of these unusual circumstances.
The NHS, teachers and parents, are trying their best to keep you safe and healthy. I can’t wait for the day that, this would all be better and we can see everybody again.
I will keep hope and faith with you in my heart.
Amen

5th May 2020HANNAH ANGEL

Today let us ask for Mary’s intercession for us in this month of Our Lady.

Pope Francis’ Prayer to Our Lady during the Coronavirus Pandemic
O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith.
You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need.
We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.

Prayer for today 4.5.20

4th May 2020HANNAH ANGEL
Today is the feast of the English Martyrs, those who gave their life to defend the faith at a time we weren’t allowed to practice. While not the same, today we can’t gather at this time to receive the sacraments so let us ask their intercession to God that we will be able to come together again very soon.
Oh God, in whom there is no change or shadow of alteration, you gave courage to the Holy Martyrs. Grant unto us, we beseech you, through their intercession, the grace to always value the Holy Mass. May we be strengthened to serve you in imitation of the courage of these Holy Martyrs. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever. Amen.

What a fantastic two days at the Wilf Mannion Football Tournament!

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed plenty of matches in the sunshine, showing great teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout. We are incredibly proud of the effort, attitude and support they showed for one another both on and off the pitch.

Well done to everyone who took part and a special thanks to all the organisers who put on a great event.
