Paul has been part of the local governing body of St Edward’s since 2018, he brings knowledge and experience from roles previously held in his wide-ranging career. Paul currently resides in Linthorpe with his wife and 4 children who previously attended the school. He has a wider knowledge of the local community and his career skills as a HR Projects officer, Employment Officer and a Project Co-Ordinator allow him to effectively challenge and offer support to the senior leadership at St Edward’s ensuring the school and Trust ethos is being met.

Paul says “St Edward’s is a great school, we are truly blessed. I want to help the local governing body in the background to help to ensure the school are supported in their efforts to educate children with an emphasis on the importance of community and catholic values. I will be a critical friend to the head and the team.”

In his spare time, Paul enjoys gardening, composting, gym, antiques, collectables and reading.

Jacinta Skipp – Foundation Governor

Jacinta is a retired medical professional. She enjoys keeping busy along side her governor role by taking part in the Cleveland Philharmonic Choir and volunteering once a week at Teesside I.P.U. Having lived in Middlesbrough for a number of years now, Jacinta’s children attended St Edward’s so becoming part of the governing board was a great way of rising up to the challenge of ensuring our school delivers the very best catholic education experience.

Jacinta says, “I didn’t do well at school. I have bad memories, I want to avoid this happening to others. I was asked to be a governor and I am really enjoying the experience.”

Simon Carey – Foundation Governor

Simon has joined the governing body recently.  He has been a teacher in Catholic Education for 28 years and a reader and eucharistic minister at Holy Name of Mary. He is extremely happy to be part of the governing body of St Edward’s as the school sits within his parish and family members have previously attended the school.  As a practising Catholic, Simon has been impressed by the religious and moral ethos which is evident throughout the school and he hopes that he can continue to play a part in ensuring this continues. Living in the catchment area of the school, Simon has good knowledge of the wider community the school serves.

Simon says “My vision for the future of the school is to see it growing and flourishing as part of the wider NPCAT family.”

In his spare time, Simon volunteers as the Cleveland School’s FA Secretary and in managing the U16 Boys.  He has a passion for sport, especially golf and football.
