At St Edward’s we always look to encourage our children to find out as much as possible about the world around them.
We strive to educate and inform our children so that they are equipped with the knowledge they need to face the challenges of the future.
To become Global Citizens.
Therefore we are finding out about the ‘Global Goals.’
In 2015 the United Nations developed the 17 Global Goals as a way of encouraging us to recognise and work together towards addressing the problems in our world. The Global Goalsdeal with poverty, hunger, climate change and many other areas that challenge us and others in our world.
Our children are all involved in studies which cover many aspects of the ‘Goals’-from Nursery-building Community Links by visiting our Local Aged community members – through to Year 6 -working with the Environment Agency/Water aid.
We hope that you will join us on this journey by having a look at the United Nations Global Goalsand by encouraging your children to think about themselves, the community in which they live and the problems that we can help to put right for others in our world.
As Pope Francis said in his Letter to the World-‘Laudato Si’……….
‘lets put love for the world, and love for our neighbours into action by living together in harmony ‘
and by
‘taking simple everyday eco-actions to care for for the earth’
